Kalil's Korner - September 2022

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first official Kalil’s Corner. This will be a bi-monthly blog where I will reflect on recent events, as well as share current and future opportunities you or others can get involved with the foundation. 

‍

First, I would like to look back at our first ever P.A.T. Breakfast that we held back in August. Considering it was the first time we hosted an event without any kind of sport aspect and a new experiment for our foundation, it taught us a lot of great things. We succeeded in some areas and fell short in others. However, it was such an amazing experience for me, personally, to see so many people who believe in the mission of ZeroZero under one roof, all enjoying a meal together.

I want to thank everyone from the parents, volunteers, the caterers (Big Bad Breakfast), and of course, my ZeroZero kids for coming out. That morning would not have been possible without all of you showing up with your amazing energy and enthusiasm!

Coming up soon we’ll be back outside for our September’s Rally Clinic. We’ll be out at Cooper Green Park with the Vestavia Men’s Baseball Team learning the principles and fundamentals of America’s favorite pastime. We will be there from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM having a blast, obviously, but also learning and enjoying time together. If you're interested in getting involved, please feel free to email me!

In October, we will be hosting a Tennis Rally Clinic for the first time! We could really use some help from a coach and volunteer stand point; Caleb and I have never actually played tennis before and would not do the sport any justice in trying to be instructors to our ZeroZero kids. If you, or anyone you know has knowledge in tennis and would like to spend a Saturday morning with some amazing kids, please reach out to me!

That about wraps it up for all of our upcoming events and initiatives. If you ever have any questions about the Foundation as a whole or how you could get involved, either from a donor standpoint or just getting your child involved, please let me know! I’d be happy to sit down and talk with you!
