Kalil's Korner: May 2023
What’s up everyone!?
I hope this transition to warm weather has been as good to y’all as it has to me!
"A little recap of the last couple of months. Back in March, we hosted another one of our PAT Check-Ins, but this one was a bit more special, as it doubled as our first-ever Phase One Graduation! The “Super Six” as we call them have exemplified great character throughout their time in the foundation, and will now move towards programming more suitable to prepare them to pursue success in academics, athletics, and ultimately, life. A huge shout out to all of our volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to help us complete this session."
In April, we hosted our first-ever Rally Sport: Track and Field Clinic. Our kids were able to literally hit the ground running thanks to our friends at USA Track and Field! We warmed up with a good stretch, a two-mile run, and then got into the specifics. Starting off with the fundamentals and learning how to use momentum to run quicker, we then transitioned into sprints, hurdles, and relay races. This experience was a result of our research into our kids' interests through our PAT check-ins. Track and Field wasn’t a sport we initially planned to roll out this year but so many asked for it so we had to deliver!
Unfortunately, we had to cancel May’s Football Clinic due to thunderstorms. We will be right back on schedule for June, though, for both another PAT Check-In and Rally Camp: Session One! Details to follow for the PAT Check-in; it will be on June 10th, however, we are still searching for a venue. Rally Camp Session One is June 19-23. Parents if you have yet to sign your child up, please do so as soon as possible! You can contact me personally for the registration link. It will be a week they will never forget!
Until next time!
